Welcome to seaboarcreations.com
For as long as I can remember, my paintings were surreal. I always painted this way; even before knowing what surrealism was. It seems I was naturally drawn to it. For instance, true to surrealist automatism I would just sit down and start drawing and an image would come through all on its own. The same is true about my approach today. For the most part, I do not plan out a composition. Instead, I more or less just let it happen. I also try not to allow any pre-conceived notions or moral judgments impede my creative flow. I paint to explore the hidden realms of the psyche, to express the anguish and beauty of life and just to see “What will happen if I try this?” Sometimes, these experimental ventures flop. But there are times when serendipity, synchronicity or chance, strike a chord that becomes a surrealist symphony! This playful approach makes painting fun! Over the years, it has been a pleasure collaborating with surrealists and hosting a Guest Gallery with hundreds of surreal art submissions from around the world. It sure is great to know that surrealism is very much alive! Through my internet travels, I have also found surrealist groups and individuals (writers and intellectuals) who are part of an on going surrealist project who (put simply) are dedicated to "changing life", questioning the way we think and exposing the nonsense that we are perhaps unwittingly controlled by. With that said, if you are at all curious about surrealism please explore my gallery and the many links on this website. On a final note, if you’re an artist and consider your work to be surreal or at least in the spirit of surrealism, then you are welcome to submit your art into the Guest Gallery. You may also submit your website for possible inclusion into the SurreaLists at surrealists.org. If you would like to exchange links with this site (seaboarcreations.com) send an email with your URL, a short statement and banner included.
Well, all the best & enjoy!
